Everton striker Sandro Ramirez is likely to leave the club before the transfer window shuts, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The outlet claims that the Spanish striker is expected to leave the club before the end of the month, as the transfer window for European teams stays open until 31st August, despite officially being given the number nine shirt last week.

The report reveals that Toffees boss Marco Silva is hoping to bring in a striker this week, which would push the former Barcelona striker further down the pecking order.

The 23-year-old, who earns £65,000-per-week at the club (Spotrac), has scored one goal in 15 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit.

OPINION

This would be a massive mistake. The Spanish striker is a great goalscorer and needs a good run of games to prove his worth to this club, he’s barely been given a chance by any of the previous managers and deserves a shot at redemption before being flogged to a European club. If he gets given a regular starting place consistently for a few games, the Toffees fans will start to see how much he could contribute to their season. The transfer market isn’t exactly full of cheap excellent goalscorers, so they should keep the one they have got and see if they can get the best out of him. If Marco Silva offloads Sandro, it would be a huge mistake and they will never know how good a player he could have been for the Merseyside club. The likes of Yanick Bolasie, Theo Walcott and Oumar Niasse are far worse options to have in the team than the 23-year-old, who would contribute a lot more than those three in terms of goals and assists.
