John Motson claimed that he was predicting a high-scoring game between Everton and Bournemouth on Saturday as there is always drama when the two side meets at the Vitality Stadium.

The legendary commentator didn’t predict an outcome between the two Premier League sides but shared he was expecting goals during their upcoming meeting.

Motson shared that having commentated on the fixture for the last three years that fans should expect there to be several exciting moments in the game as it has consistently delivered the goods in the last few seasons.

“I tell you why I think that (Everton v Bournemouth) will be high scoring, ” said Motson on talkSPORT (August 24th, 14:37).

“I’ve actually commentated on that game by chance for the last three years and there is always drama, always drama in the last five minutes of that match.

“I’ve seen equalisers, seen winning goals, supporters on the pitch, players over celebrating, the referee adding time on and on and then another goal.

“Every time Everton and Bournemouth meet at the Vitality there seems to be some sort of great drama in the closing stages, now I’ve said that it’s going to be 0-0.

“Unpredictable is the way I would put it”

OPINION

Toffees supporters will be thrilled at the prospect of watching a match packed with goals as long as their side emerges with all three points. While Motson claims he may have jinxed the fixture now as it will likely ending up being 0-0 instead, it’s hard to see this match not being an intriguing clash to watch. Both Premier League sides have started the new season in good form and will be aiming to keep impressing when they face each other on Saturday. The Cherries have achieved maximum points from their first two league games of the season having cruised past Cardiff City and come from behind against West Ham at the London Stadium last weekend to win that game 2-1. The result against the Hammers was particularly impressive as they found themselves 1-0 down quite early on and could really give Marco Silva’s side a run for their money on Saturday.
