Broadcaster Stan Collymore has delivered a prediction on Newcastle United’s clash with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
United go into this match having only took one point from the last two games, with an opening day defeat to Tottenham and a draw with newbies Cardiff City to their name.
Collymore has predicted on Twitter that the Magpies will be subjected to a close 2-1 defeat to the hands of Chelsea, who have had a 100 per cent record in the Premier League so far.

Pundits appear to be queuing up to predict a loss for Newcastle, bar one who thinks that the game will end in a draw. Collymore has joined the majority in predicting a 2-1 loss for the Magpies, which appears to be the most accurate scoreline. However, these pundits seem to forget that Newcastle tend to turn up in matches against the Premier League top-six, so a shock win for United may be on the cards if they are at their best tomorrow. They will need to improve upon their display against Cardiff City last weekend and get on the score sheet in order to end their currently short-lived goal drought, otherwise the Blues will be all over them. Nevertheless, Benitez must go in with the frame of mind that he can beat Chelsea – as failing to get a result in front of the home fans will cause them to trail even further behind their rivals in a bid to stay up this season. The one thing supporters can take from this prediction is that Collymore has not predicted a heavy loss for United – but time will tell what will happen.
