Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could undergo a medical at AC Milan tomorrow (Monday) ahead of a season-long loan move, according to Gianluca Di Marzio

The Sky Sports journalist reports on his personal website that the 23-year-old is set to depart London in the coming hours after a loan with option to buy was all but agreed, and a medical will take place tomorrow if everything is finalised.

Di Marzio claims that there are just a few final details to be sorted before the move is confirmed, with Bakayoko deemed surplus to requirements by new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

Good move for Chelsea?

Bakayoko has obviously failed to impress new manager Sarri during pre-season, and his poor first campaign in England obviously hasn’t done him any favours.

Still, it is a bit of a surprise to see him being loaned out, as the young midfielder would surely have a role to play at Stamford Bridge at some point this season.

Sarri has however made up his mind, and this is now a move which makes sense for both player and club.

Chelsea will just have to hope that Bakayoko gets back on track in Serie A and begins to show his talent once again, although the option to buy may take the chance of a return away from the club even if they desire it.

Likely to happen?

It does look like Bakayoko is on his way, with just a few small details left to be ironed out.

The midfielder is reportedly set to leave London in the coming hours, and that should see this move go through by tomorrow barring any complications in the medical.
