Championship side Norwich are plotting a move for young Celtic midfielder Regan Hendry, according to the Sun’s transfer expert Alan Nixon.

He made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Sunday morning.

He added that they were eyeing a possible loan move or even more, hinting at a possible permanent deal.

Good move for Celtic?

The 20-year-old midfielder hasn’t made his breakthrough into the senior Celtic side yet and a loan move to the Championship could do him the world of good. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Raith Rovers where he made 13 appearances and a step up to a club like Norwich would be great for his development. The only question would be one of game time. Hendry is unlikely to play much for Norwich and Celtic would want to make sure there’s something in it for the youngster before sending him down south. We can’t see Celtic making his move permanent.

Likely to happen?

It looks like it’s a late move by Norwich. Nixon says they’ve only been looking at him for a few days and Daniel Farke is obviously looking for late reinforcements before the summer transfer window slams shut. At 20, Hendry will be looking to step up after playing for Celtic’s Under-20s and might well fancy trying his luck in a league that’s every bit as competitive and tough as the Scottish Premiership.
