Norwich are in hot pursuit of Aston Villa attacker Andre Green and are battling Bolton to sign the 20-year-old on loan, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claimed on their live transfer on Tuesday [02:57pm] that Green’s chances of first team football at Villa Park have taken a hit since Steve Bruce wrapped up the loan signings of Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi, prompting interest from the club’s Championship rivals.

Green has made five appearances in all competitions for Villa in their first team this season, but was not involved in the 1-1 draw with Reading at the weekend.

Good move for Aston Villa?

If Green is not going to get much game time this season then it is definitely worth sending him out on loan so that his development does not stall.

Norwich has been a good place for young players to head on loan in the last few years, so striking a deal with the East Anglia club could be beneficial for all parties concerned.

However with the rigours of the Championship season and Bolasie’s susceptibility to injury, keeping Green around or inserting a recall clause in his loan deal wouldn’t be a bad idea as well.

It’s tough decision and one that is probably going to be up for the player to decide.

Likely to happen?

Green was nowhere to be seen in the draw with Reading on Saturday so there is a good chance that he has taken that as an early sign he won’t be involved at Villa Park much this season.

Bruce would probably consider the deal as well because a loan switch to Norwich or Bolton could be the making of the player, enhancing his abilities, transfer value and reputation.
