Swansea forward Oli McBurnie has been raving about Rangers forward Kyle Lafferty after he scored a brace on his second debut for the club against Motherwell on Sunday.

Lafferty was snapped up from Hearts earlier this week and in his first start back with the Glasgow giants, he stuck two past Motherwell as the Gers could only manage a 3-3 draw at Fir Park.

And Rangers-mad Scotland international McBurie was loving his display on his personal Twitter account.

“Big laff man, legend,” said the Swansea ace.

OPINION

It was a slice of good fortune for Lafferty when he got himself off the mark on his second spell for Rangers at Fir Park on Sunday. His shot was deflected in, but the Northern Ireland international won’t mind, as long as he gets his name on the scoresheet. There was nothing lucky about the former Norwich star’s second goal though. James Tavernier’s cross was inch perfect and Lafferty rose well to head it into Trevor Carson’s goal. The 30-year-old’s game really couldn’t have gone much better and Rangers fans – including McBurnie – should be very excited about what the season holds for him. Up next in the Scottish Premiership is the Old Firm against Celtic, and no one is more of a proven goalscorer against Brendan Rodgers’ side than the Ibrox fan favourite. He will definitely be up for the game and he should be a lethal weapon in Steven Gerrard’s arsenal.
