The Telegraph has written an article enthusing about the new Leeds manager Marcelo Bilesa and said that he is setting an example that Jose Mourinho should follow – and United fans are not happy.

Bielsa – the former Argentina and Marseilles coach – has taken over at Leeds after a fall from grace and has had a fast start, winning his two opening games 3-1 and 4-1 against Stoke and Derby respectively.

But it’s the way he’s got his team playing which has excited pundits and fans alike, and Jeremy Wilson in the Telegraph said: “Such a powerful example of what can be achieved on a training ground is also all rather timely so soon after Jose Mourinho had pointedly noted that his profession should now be known as head coaches rather than managers.”

Mourinho made several pessimistic comments after a quiet summer when he didn’t get the targets he wanted through the door.

By contrast, Bielsa has seemingly worked wonders with the same players that failed to make any impact on the Championship last season.

In fact, the same players that are now the bookies favourites to win the title, were bottom of the form table from Christmas last season.

Leeds fans are obviously delighted that their manager is getting compared favourably to Mourinho, but Man United fans don’t feel the same way.

One fan said the “hatred is unreal” while another pointed out that Bielsa has won nothing but two titles in Argentina.

Here are the best reactions from angry United fans:

OPINION

Marcelo Bielsa has made a huge impact in the Championship and it proves that managers can completely change a club up with the same group of players. This was the point of the article. Mourinho has been moaning about his squad but he’s spent a huge amount of money assembling his current players. And now it’s surely right for people to expect him to be able to work wonders with them? That’s his job as Man United manager – it’s not to spend and spend, and then spend some more in a bid to catch Man City. Money is obviously important in the Premier League and United didn’t get any of their big five targets over the summer, but he still has a squad of world-class players and Mourinho needs to concentrate on getting the most from them and spend less time complaining.
