A section of Leeds United fans raved about summer signing Jack Harrison after an impressive performance in the goalless draw with Middlesbrough at Elland Road on Friday night.

The 21-year-old, who is on loan at Leeds from Manchester City, was in good form out on the wing as he covered the injury Pablo Hernandez.

And some Whites fans were hailing the England youth international for his outing, with one saying that he was “quality” against Tony Pulis’ side.

OPINION

Harrison earned just his first league start for Leeds against Boro, and gave fans a taste of why he was signed by Man City in January. He never really shone on loan at the Riverside in the second half of last season, but he proved that Pulis simply wasn’t playing him correctly when he impressed on Friday. It wasn’t a classic performance by Marcelo Bielsa’s side and one that probably won’t live too long in the memory, but if there is anything to take away, it is that Harrison is a good player and will only continue to improve with the more starts he has. These fans were all impressed by what the winger had to offer and hopefully there is plenty more to come. However he is not a first-pick for Bielsa when he as a fully fit squad, so supporters may need to drink in these performances when they get to see them because they may not happen all too often over the course of the campaign.
