Kenedy will not face retrospective action for kicking out in the Premier League game on Saturday against Cardiff, according to a reliable journalist.
Chris Waugh, from the Chronicle, made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Monday afternoon.
He said that the referee included the incident in his match report but a free kick was awarded so “no action can be taken”.
Kenedy can’t play in the game against Chelsea on Saturday as they are his parent club, but he will be back for the game against Nottingham Forest in the league cup, and then for the league game against Man City the following Saturday.
Understand that Kenedy won't receive retrospective action for kicking out on Saturday

OPINION
Kenedy was lucky on Saturday. If the referee had properly seen his kick he would surely have been sent off, and now it looks like he’ll get away with retrospective action on a technicality. That’s great news for Newcastle though, who need all of their quality players fit and eligible to play. The game on Saturday was hugely disappointing, with neither side good enough to claim all three points. And things won’t get any easier this weekend against Chelsea. They beat Arsenal 3-2 on Saturday and losing Kenedy will be a big loss. If they lose to Chelsea they’ll have one point from three games and it could signal that the 18/19 Premier League campaign is going to be a long and testing one for Newcastle. They might not have been expected to get anything from the Tottenham and Chelsea games, but they really need to beat teams like Cardiff if they’re going to avoid a long and torturous relegation battle.
