Everton summer signing Richarlison is expected to be fit enough to earn his home debut against Southampton on Saturday, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers.

The reporter claimed on his personal Twitter account that Richarlison, 21, was suffering from cramp when he was substituted off in the win against Wolves at the weekend, in which he scored two goals on his Toffees debut.

The Brazilian attacker, who was signed from Watford in the summer, managed to last 88 minutes before he was taken off, and after such a sublime debut at Molineux on Saturday, it is no doubt a boost for Everton to have him back in contention.

OPINION

Everton had their critics when Marco Silva splashed £40million on signing Richarlison from Watford in the summer, however if he is able to keep reproducing performances like what he put in against Wolves at the weekend then he will be paying back that money in no time. Richarlison is only 21-years-old, so he is going to keep on improving. He plays for a manager who clearly has massive faith in him and is able to get the best out of him on the pitch. Him suffering from cramp at Molineux is a sign that he is maybe not up to the speed that Everton need him to be at, but working on that this week should get him at peak fitness in no time. Southampton will be more of a challenge for Silva and Richarlison. Mark Hughes has some good defenders who could put the ex-Watford man under a lot of pressure. If his quality is able to shine through though, he is bound to have yet another stormer.
