Chelsea outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko is in Italy to undergo a medical with Italian giants AC Milan ahead of a loan-to-buy move, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian publication showing images on their website of the player arriving at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan to undergo a medical with the Serie A club.

Bakayoko has endured a disappointing year at Stamford Bridge since joining from Monaco and the arrivals of big money signing Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic has casted the French midfielder out of Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

Sky Sports Italia have claimed that Bakayoko’s move to Milan could turn into a permanent deal once the loan deal reaches its conclusion, with an option to buy the 23-year-old.

Good move for Chelsea?

The Blues already boast top quality central midfielders such as Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante and the transfers of Jorginho and Kovacic should make it impossible for Bakayoko to gain regular minutes.

A loan move to Milan can help the midfielder towards resurrecting his career after failing to live up to the £40 million price tag Chelsea paid to sign him.

There are too many high-profile players for Chelsea to choose from and it is probably best that Bakayoko finds a different club instead of struggling to work his way into the first-team squad.

Likely to happen?

Bakayko is more than likely to be featuring in an AC Milan shirt this campaign after pictures surfaced of the midfielder at the Milan clinic for a medical.

Chelsea will have to work out whether they want to offload the Frenchman permanently and regain the huge transfer fee that the Blues spent to bring Bakayoko to London.

The former league champions began their top flight campaign with a convincing away win at Huddersfield and should be too concerned about losing the 23-year-old.
