Chelsea drew their final pre-season friendly of the season against Lyon 0-0 at Stamford Bridge tonight, winning 5-4 on penalties, but fans were not happy with the performance of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
It was Maurizio Sarri’s first time in the Stamford Bridge dugout and he’ll have been happy to have the distraction of football tonight after a dramatic 48 hours.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtiois has gone AWOL in a bid to force a move through to Real Madrid and that looks like happening after it was reported by the Guardian that Chelsea were set to pay £76.1million for the release clause of Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Bakayoko has also been the subject of transfer speculation, with a possible loan move to AC Milan reported by Sky Sports.
One fan questioned why he was playing tonight if he was going, but his performance tonight won’t have done his move any favours.
Here are the best reactions from disgruntled Chelsea fans:
I’ve defended Bakayoko for far too long. He gotta go.

#cfc must find a way to sell Cahill, Bakayoko,Drinkwater and Moses before thursday's deadline. What will happen to Moses? Not a RB and never a proper RW. Has to go #cfc

Willian, Bakayoko, drinkwater all not good enough in my opinion. Why is Willian seen as so important when more often than not he fluffs his lines

OPINION
Bakayoko to AC Milan on loan and Mateo Kovacic to Chelsea? That would surely be an upgrade and Chelsea fans will be hoping it happens after watching a pretty listless display from the 23-year-old tonight. To be fair, the AC Milan talks can’t have helped his mindset tonight and it does seem odd that he was put in Sarri’s starting XI. Maybe the move to Milan isn’t going to go through after all.
