Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds will come out on top of Derby when they travel to Pride Park on Saturday evening and play in front of the Sky cameras for the second consecutive time.

Writing in his column for Sky, Prutton predicted goals and said that Leeds would come away with the points in a 2-3 thriller.

“What a game we have in store on Saturday evening. Frank Lampard’s Derby take on Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds. Who thought we would ever be saying that?!

“Leeds were superb against Stoke last weekend while Derby nicked their win right at the death at Reading. This is a tough one to call and Pride Park will be rocking.

“I fancy goals here but Leeds look more the finished article at the moment and I fancy them to nick it.”

OPINION

Leeds passed their first test of the new Championship with flying colours last weekend when they beat Stoke 3-1. And it wasn’t so much the scoreline but the way they played that impressed so much. Stoke are the bookies favourites to lift the title and get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, and Leeds dismantled them. Heading away to Derby is another of the season’s toughest games for Bielsa and another three points would be massive – maybe even more significant than the Stoke win. Derby are on a high after beating Reading last Friday and new manager Frank Lampard has got their fans thinking they can crack the play-offs this season. Prutton is right though when he says that Leeds were superb last week and he’s plumped for another high-scoring game, with Leeds to come out on top again. We can’t argue with that assessment and with six points out of six, despite what happened to them after a fast start last season, Leeds fans will be starting to believe again.
