Aston Villa are strong favourites to sign Yannick Bolasie from Everton, according to Sky Sports (live transfer blog, 8.09am).
Bolasie was at Villa for talks with Bruce yesterday and he remained there overnight, with negotiations over a move set to continue this morning.
Middlesbrough are also trying to convince him to sign with them and a decision is expected imminently.
Good move for Aston Villa?
Bolasie looked brilliant at Crystal Palace and that led to a big-money move to Everton. They paid £26million for him a couple of years ago, but it just hasn’t worked out for him at Goodison. A serious injury curtailed his first two seasons there and he hasn’t been able to re-capture his form since his return. The 32-time capped international would be a massive player in the Championship though and if Villa can successfully hijack Middlesbrough’s move, they’ll have pulled off one of the best deals in the Championship this summer.

Yesterday, the move was said to be in the balance, with the player seemingly split between the two clubs. That seems to have changed after he held face-to-face talks with Bruce and Sky are now reporting that the midlands side are “strong” favourites. We’re expecting a decision in the next 24-48 hours but this is extremely good news for Villa.
