Leeds have made a tremendous start to life under new boss Marcelo Bielsa, however Leeds fans might want to slow down and wait and see how the rest of the campaign pans out, because Bielsa teams are known for falling off the rails come the end of the season.

After a thumping 4-1 win against Frank Lampard’s Derby, their fans have been rightly getting excited for the rest of the season and now expect Bielsa to guide them to promotion, but the second half of the season could be where it all falls apart.

So far Bielsa has done everything right at Elland Road and the fans already love him. According to The Mail a brutal pre-season saw triple training sessions and litter picking for three hours to show the players how much work the fans do just to watch their favourite team. This gesture got the fans on side immediately and may have blinded them to the Argentines recent track record.

As Marseille manager Bielsa guided the French side to top of the table at Christmas during the 2014/15 season, but they faded away come the end of the season and finished down in fourth place. Following a loss on the opening day of the next season Bielsa quite the French club and spent almost a year unemployed.

The most bizarre moment of his managerial career came in 2016 when he was appointed Lazio manger and then quit two days later for which he was sued by the club for breach of contract.

Bielsa’s disruptive side then showed at his last job, Lille, where he told 11 of the teams most experienced players they could leave.

Then, before pre-season he told the players he wanted to leave before then being suspended and having his contract terminated.

For as positive as Marcelo Bielsa’s start has been at Leeds – and it’s been fantastic – he is temperamental and one spark could lead to a falling out or results dropping off.

Leeds have been installed as the new favourites to win the Championship title, a knee-jerk reaction after just two games. They were priced at 22/1 over the summer.

We hope Bielsa takes Leeds back to the Premier League where they belong, but we’re not getting ahead of ourselves just yet.
