A number of Leeds United fans have been left fuming with the performance of goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell on Twitter after his performance against Swansea City on Tuesday evening.

The Whites played out a 2-2 draw with the recently relegated side at the Liberty Stadium, in a game which saw Marcelo Bielsa forced into a mix of changes both before and during the clash, with captain Liam Cooper forced out of the clash in the warm out with a hamstring injury.

It was the home side who took the lead, Oliver McBurnie netting the opener and the second goal, and many of the Elland Road faithful turned to social media to tear the performance of the 6’3″ (source: Transfermarkt) shot stopper for his part in the clash, even if he did make an important save late on.

Opinion

Peacock-Farrell has established himself as one of the young talents to break though the youth system at Elland Road and into the first team over the past 12 months, but with displays like this he is not going to stay in the starting XI for much longer. Supporters are right to be raging with his display against the Swans, for his performance was one of the contributing factors to the dropped points. As many point out, this is not the first time he has been guilty of giving goals up. The Whites signed Jamal Blackman from Chelsea on loan over the summer and he is yet to really be given the chance in the first team, but this could be the catalyst for Marcelo Bielsa to make the change and give the Blues loanee his time to prove he is worthy of taking the gloves and doing a job for his new team.
