Leeds midfielder Jamie Shackleton signed a new three-year contract on Monday morning and fans are absolutely delighted by the news.

The announcement was made on the official Leeds Twitter account after he made his senior debut on Saturday.

OPINION:
Leeds fans are delighted for Shackleton, although we imagine that the club could announce pretty much anything at the moment and get good feedback – the start of the season has been that good. One fan said that he’d noticed Shackleton had played well in pre-season and that he deserved his shot in the senior side and a new contract. Others said that the 18-year-old had a big future in front of him and one said that he couldn’t wait to see the youngster racking up the appearances this season. He might well get his first start in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, with manager Marcelo Bielsa expected to name a heavily changed line-up for the game against Bolton. The way he plays his football, the Leeds first-teamers will be grateful for as much rest as they can get with games set to come thick and fast. Having players like Shackleton to call on is not only good for the future, but essential in the present.
