Nottingham Forest have agreed a fee with Blackburn Rovers for young striker Ben Brereton and his exit could go through next week, according to BBC Nottingham.

The broadcaster report that the transfer is not yet done but an agreement is near, with Brereton set to join Rovers on an initial loan deal.

Sky Sports further report that the deal will become permanent in January, with Blackburn agreeing to pay £6million for the 19-year-old after settling on personal terms.

Good move for Forest?

It depends which way you look at it.

On one hand, they are allowing one of their best young players to leave the club, which could be a mistake in the long run with Brereton having the potential to go on to big things.

On the other hand they are set to receive a £6million fee for a player who was in many ways unlikely to play too much this season, and that looks to be a sensible business decision.

Likely to happen?

Yes.

This one looks like it will go through very soon, with negotiations ongoing for a while.

It looks like the two clubs have agreed a fee for the deal to become permanent in January, while Brereton has also agreed personal terms with the Lancashire club.
