Steve Bruce would be making a wise decision to loan Aston Villa midfielder Callum O’Hare to Barnsley as it could significantly aid his promising development.

According to Football Insider the exciting Villans gem is close to leaving the club on loan with League One’s Barnsley currently leading the race to borrow his services for the 2018/19 campaign.

The reliable football outlet reported that Bruce was open to the idea of approving the 20-year-old’s temporary exit as he wasn’t set to be in the manager’s first-team plans this season.

Considering that O’Hare lit up the Premier League 2 in his 2017/18 campaign as he scored 10 goals, while assisting three, in his 14 appearances in that competition for the U-23, it’s clear that if he doesn’t taste senior football in his current campaign then his progress will stall.

The 20-year-old looked like he had gained everything he could from playing for the U-23s side and was in need of a bigger challenge in order to continue to develop into the exciting player he looks like being.

O’Hare has only managed to make eight senior appearances for the Villans, four of those brief outings in the Championship, and needs regular senior football in order to learn how to improve.

With Barnsley in League One then playing for them should see him able to gain vital experience and challenge his abilities in order to see him grow as a player.

O’Hare will then return to the Villans next summer a much-improved player from his time away and Bruce could even end up reaping some benefits as the player may become good enough to force himself into his first-team plans.

This means that Bruce will make a wise decision by approving the reportedly possible loan exit of O’Hare to see him join Barnsley as every one involved in the deal would be a winner.
