20-year-old Leeds United striker Adrian Balboa has completed a loan move to Spanish club Terrassa after his move to CF Badalona fell through.

Balboa was announced by Badalona on their official Twitter page but for an unknown reason that move has been cancelled and Balboa is now at his new club.

The news was officially announced on the official Leeds website on Friday morning.

Balboa departs after another Leeds player, 25-year-old Ouasim Bouy left to join PEC Zwolle on a season-long loan.

OPINION

After joining Leeds from Spanish club Unificacion Bellvitge, Balboa has been a regular in the talented Under-23s side under Carlos Corberan. He is now in search of first-team experience that could lead him one step closer to the first-team next season. It might be a bit of a disappointment for him – new manager Marcelo Bielsa has said that he will be working much closer with the Under-23s this season to fill in the gaps he has in his senior squad. And, as the season goes on, and injuries mount up, there could be a number of opportunities for youngsters to at least get on the senior bench. That’s too far off for Balboa at the moment, with others in front of him in the pecking order – like Jack Clarke and Sam Dalby. The initial move to Badalona was curious. He was paraded at the end of July as their player but that’s obviously been terminated and he’ll take his place at Terrassa in Barcelona, a team that plays in the Tercera Division, the fourth tier of Spanish football.
