A selection of Celtic fans have turned to social media to rave over the performance of full back Kieran Tierney during the club’s Champions League qualifying clash with AEK Athens on Wednesday night.
The Hoops welcomed the Greek champions to Glasgow for the first leg of the tie, and made the perfect start courtesy of a strike from winger Callum McGregor, who netted with a fierce effort drilled into the corner of the net in the opening 20 minutes.
However, they let their lead slip a minute before half time when a cross was delivered from the left hand flank and an unmarked Viktor Klonaridis was able to fire the ball past Craig Gordon, the game ending 1-1.
Having dazzled down the left flank, fans took to Twitter to rave over Tierney’s display.
This is Futbol has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Opinion
Tierney is a firm favourite at Parkhead and with displays like this it is clear to see why. The left back was allowed to maraud up and down the left flank for much of the game and quite frankly his display should have resulted in more goals for Brendan Rodgers and his men. His pace caused the Athens defence all sorts of problems and he was resolute at the back, rarely giving the visitors a sniff of a chance. Some of the Hoops fans are right though – he was one of just a couple of bright sparks when the Bhoys needed more from the other outfield players. His partnership with McGregor continues to flourish – if only more could follow the pair’s lead.
