A section of Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to the performance of Dedryck Boyata in the 1-0 win against Hamilton at Parkhead on Sunday.
Boyata, 27, has been the subject of major speculation this summer and made his first appearance for the Hoops this season when Brendan Rodgers opted to start him for the Scottish Premiership action this weekend.
And it appears that some Celtic fans were left impressed with the Belgium international’s display, despite the Green Brigade unfurling a banner which said the former Manchester City centre-back is not fit to wear the shirt.

Whether you like him or not Boyata the best player on the Park first half.

At the risk of tempting fate, Boyata looks like the kind of centre half we sound be signing.

Big Boyata hasn't put a foot wrong that half. Passing has been crisp and he's tackled well too. Makes you wonder if we had him for the CL qualifiers.

Half time 0-0. A Deilaesque half. The new boy Boyata has strolled it so far.

OPINION
Is it time to forgive and forget? Something behind the scenes has clearly happened for Boyata not to even be involved in a matchday squad up until this weekend so you can understand why there were some fans booing the Belgium international in the game against Hamilton. However it is clear that he is miles better than the likes of Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry, who consistently have mistakes in them in games like this. Three things could happen between now and deadline day on Friday. Boyata stays, Boyata goes and Rodgers signs a replacement or Boyata goes and no one in brought in. At the moment, it seems as though no one new will be signed up so Rodgers probably has to hang on to the centre-back. If he keeps on playing well, Hoops fans will surely come to forgive him, especially if he helps keep a clean sheet against Rangers next week.
