Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan is scheduled to undergo a medical with Aston Villa today (Wednesday), according to Mirror reporter James Nursey.
The reliable journalist claimed via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday morning that Bryan, 24, is edging closer towards a move to Villa Park after attracting a lot of attention this summer.

Bryan has proved himself to be one of the best left-backs in the Championship over the last few years.
He has made 141 appearances in England’s second-tier, scoring nine goals and supplying 17 assists in the process.
Good move for Aston Villa?
Steve Bruce has played a blinder to sign Bryan after his impressive season last time out attracted a lot of reported attention.
He played a key role in helping Bristol City reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals, scoring against the likes of Crystal Palace and Manchester United as he was deployed in a more attacking wing-back role.
If Bruce can get him to repeat his performances at Villa Park then it will be a very good signing for the West Midlands club. who earlier this summer look as though they would struggle to sign anyone due to their financial woes.

It sure seems as though this deal is now close to being complete.
Bryan has not really had any issues with injuries in his career so passing his medical at Bodymoor Heath should be no issue for the left-sided flyer.
Time is starting to run out before the window closes at 5pm on Thursday, but there should be enough time to wrap up this deal and maybe one or two others.
