Adrian Balboa is on the verge of leaving Leeds United in order to return to Spain and sign for Terrassa, according to Diari de Terrassa.

The Spanish newspaper claims that the Catalonia club are close to striking an agreement with Leeds and could wrap up the signing of the 20-year-old centre-forward within the coming days.

Balboa played for the Yorkshire club’s Under-23s last season, but it appears that his spell at Elland Road is coming to an end just a year after it started.

Good move for Leeds?

Victor Orta went mad with bolstering the Under-23s side with overseas talent last year with Balboa being one of several players from Spain to have been brought in by the Leeds director of football.

He wasn’t bad for the Under-23s but it was also clear that he was never going to break into the first team, so it is probably best for all parties that Balboa leaves the club for good.

Moving to Terrassa probably means that Leeds will not be getting any kind of decent fee for the striker as they play in the fourth-tier of Spanish football and probably aren’t going to be able to afford anything major.

Likely to happen?

Diari de Terrassa seems pretty convinced that this deal will be wrapped up within the coming days.

Balboa, who was born in Barcelona, is probably happy to return to a club near to where he is from and knows that he is guaranteed to get more football there.
