Chelsea fans have delivered mixed verdicts on Twitter as their club reportedly prepare to lose out to Liverpool in the race for Roma goalkeeper Alisson.
Widespread reports on Wednesday afternoon, including by Sky Sports Italy transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, claim that Alisson will join the Merseyside giants after they had a bid accepted for the Brazil international.

Chelsea have strongly been linked with the keeper this summer amid doubts over the future of contract rebel Thibaut Courtois and the Echo report Liverpool had been “wary” their rivals could scupper a deal that has got Blues followers talking on social media.

Some Chelsea fans are despairing at losing out on Alisson, as they fear the worse over Courtois, who has spoken openly over the possibility of quitting the club this summer. Others are questioning whether he is worth anywhere near the world-record fee Liverpool are set to pay for him, wide reports both in Italy and England stating the player will cost around £67million. It is a mega deal that has prompted a deluge of social media reaction, but many Chelsea supporters understand the value of strengthening a squad ahead of the new season and staying ahead of key rivals. Clearly, Liverpool will be one of those following some excellent summer acquisitions which have made Jurgen Klopp’s already exciting side now seriously strong.
