West Brom are plotting a £11 million swoop to land Derby County striker Matej Vydra, according to Express and Star.

The newspaper reports on their website that the Baggies are looking to approach Derby after monitoring the Czech forward, who will need to offload players in order to bring in reinforcements.

The prolific Championship goal demon is expected to warrant a fee of £11 million and wages of £35,000-a-week, but West Brom are reportedly only willing to splash that amount should Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez leave.

The Czech international spent the 2013/2014 season on loan at the Hawthorns, and a reunion could potentially be on the cards.

Good move for West Brom?

Yes, definitely. With Rondon and Rodriguez potentially exiting the club this summer, then the 26-year-old would be the ideal replacement for the pair.

He netted an impressive 22 times for the Rams last season, a tally that boss Darren Moore would be more than happy for him to replicate should he join forces.

Vydra could prove vital in the push for promotion next term, and his possible arrival would be the key to the club’s Championship success.

Likely to happen?

Yes, if Rondon and Rodriguez depart the club. West Brom need the funds from their potential sales in order to stump up the money for Vydra.

With Derby boss Frank Lampard also needing the money to invest in his squad, then he would be more than willing to sell to the Baggies so he can afford a suitable replacement.

However, Moore will need to convince Rondon and Rodriguez to move, as neither player has expressed an interest in jumping ship.
