Tony Pulis’ infamous pre-season training camp in Austria has taken it’s first victim with it being reported that Britt Assombalonga has been involved in a training ground bust-up with the no-nonsense Middlesbrough manager.

News outlet HITC has reported that Assombalonga’s future at The Riverside is now in doubt after a row with Boro boss Pulis on Monday, leaving their relationship with one another “strained”.

West Brom fans know all too well about the rigours of Pulis’ Austrian training camp and it also saw the Welshman’s relationship Nacer Chadli break down last year when the Belgium international opted to avoid the 5:00am mountain bike rides in favour of an easy summer at the club’s training HQ in Walsall.

However now that another club is feeling the intensity of Pulis’ pre-season training, West Brom must take advantage and make a bid to sign Assombalonga, who can spearhead Darren Moore’s attack in the Black Country next season.

The 25-year-old is a proven source of goals in the Championship.

He has found the net 45 times in 113 second-tier appearances across spells at Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough and putting him in a side that is challenging for promotion like West Brom, he is bound to be a contender for the golden boot award in 2018/19.

Moore is likely to lose the services of Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon as well with the Daily Mail claiming that Burnley have bid for Rodriguez and the Newcastle Chronicle reporting recently that Newcastle United are in talks to sign Rondon, who has a £16.5million release clause.

A signing like Assombalonga would certainly see the Baggies bounce straight back into the Premier League and Pulis’ bust-up with Boro’s £15million record-buy would mean that a move is certainly a possibility.
