Rangers trio Harry Forrester, Fabio Cardoso and Eduardo Herrera are all on the brink of leaving the club this summer as a clearout of the senior side gets underway, according to club insider EstConsultancy.

The Twitter account, who have established themselves as a reputable source of information surrounding events at Ibrox, claim that the trio are among a number of players who are destined for the exit in the coming weeks, with no redemption for them after falling out of favour in the first team.

Forrester is a forgotten figure at Ibrox, the striker having been shipped out to AFC Wimbledon on loan last season, and he will reportedly not be given the chance to add to his 44 appearances for the club.

Opinion

It should come as no surprise that Rangers are looking to try and clear out their squad under Steven Gerrard, and there should be much more than just the three who are destined for the exit. Those mentioned struggled to have any sort of impact on the first team at Ibrox over the past 12 months and with Rangers looking to try and chase Celtic at the top of the table, they need to make sure their squad is not being bloated by bodies who are not going to play. If it brings in some funds then it will only be an added bonus to Gerrard, who as well as wanting to clear out the squad will want some new recruits to help strengthen the side. It shows just how far the Light Blues have come over such a short period of time that they are ready to get rid of so many names from their squad.
