A section of Everton fans have been tearing into Ashley Williams after it was reported that there is a chance he could stay at Goodison Park past the end of the summer transfer window.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that Williams, 33, could stay and fight for his spot at Goodison, despite Everton being willing to listen to offers for the Wales international.
It is understood that the senior centre-back has already attracted a lot of attention this summer but could be set to stay put – much to the displeasure of some Toffees fans.
One supporter claimed that the Blues should “get rid” of Williams, rather than let him stay.
This is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets:
Shouldn't be anywhere near the club. Legs gone, heart isn't in it and he isn't worth the wages. Let him go for nothing.

Got to try and force him out, don’t take him on pre season tour and hope the penny sinks, clubs who want him not going to be paying £75k a week.

OPINION
It’s easy to see why Everton fans are so frustrated by this latest update on Williams. The ex-Swansea defender has been horrendous during his time at Goodison Park and has not come anywhere near to replicating the form he had in South Wales. His discipline and professionalism are laughable and Marco Silva must get rid of him as soon as he can and find younger and better replacements for the old guard that were very disappointing last term. It’s a surprise that there are plenty of teams interested in Williams and after his performances in 2017/18, it’s likely going to be Championship clubs.
