Colombia World Cup star Yerry Mina wants to move to Everton, according to a reliable journalist.

Journalist Gerard Romero, who is a very reliable source of Barcelona news, has claimed that while he has had a few offers, Everton is Mina’s preferred destination this summer.

However, he also added that the current Everton offer isn’t enough for Barcelona.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Barca want £27million for the player.

Romero made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Tuesday night.

The tweet translates: “Yerry Mina has several offers. Everton is the one most liked by the Colombian, but economically it does not satisfy Barcelona.”

SPORT claimed that Everton, West Ham and Leicester have all made bids for Mina.

Good move for Everton?

Yina impressed massively in Russia this summer, scoring in three consecutive games from centre-back. In total he has six goals in 15 caps for his country, although he hasn’t made an impact at Barcelona, playing just six games for the Spanish giants. He only arrived in January this year from Brazilian side Palmeiras but it looks like he’s already set to be offloaded, despite his World Cup heroics. Everton need a player like the 23-year-old enforcer, with Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka both the wrong side of 30.

Likely to happen?

This makes it seem much more likely. Okay, the offer so far doesn’t meet what Barcelona want – reported to be £27million, but if Everton can match that valuation, then it looks like the transfer could go ahead. The price could be a sticking point though. Barcelona only paid £11million for him in January and now want more than double that, despite not seeing him as good enough for their first team. That’s what the World Cup can do though, especially if you make a big mark like Yina did in Russia.
