With Olympique Lyonnais reportedly putting Rafael up for sale, Wolves should swoop while he’s still available.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the Ligue 1 side are looking to sell the Brazilian full-back and have made him available for just £3.5million this summer.

Wolves should take advantage of this bargain sale and secure his signing while they still can.

The 28-year-old is a tremendously gifted attacking right-back, who spends games running up and down the pitch looking to get involved in attacking moves with his more creative teammates.

The Brazilian, who is the twin brother of former-Middlesbrough full-back Fabio, was a regular in the Lyon team last season as they achieved an impressive third-place finish in the league table.

He made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists, in what was an impressive season in French football.

More importantly for Wolves however, the defender is vastly experienced in Premier League football, with 109 top flight outings, and won’t have to take time to settle in like some of their new signings may have to this summer, which could be a massive boost at the start of the season.

The former Manchester United full-back made 170 appearances in English football for the Red Devils, playing in the top-tier, the FA Cup, Champions League, EFL cup and Community Shield amongst others in his career.

The beauty of this signing is that because it’s such a small fee, there’s almost no risk involved, and Nuno Espirito Santo will be getting a very good player who will improve his team and will be able to perform at a high level immediately.

At the reported asking price of £3.5million, there will be a queue of sides looking to sign Rafael, so Wolves will have to move quickly before bigger teams get involved and price them out of any potential deal.
