West Ham have recently lost their winger Manuel Lanzini to injury for the entire season according to the Mirror, and they must search for another winger to fill his boots.

Arsenal have recently registered their intentions in snapping up Newcastle flop Florian Thauvin according to Stadio Sport, but the Hammers must hijack their reported interest in the 25-year-old in order to replace the injury-stricken Argentinian.

The Hammers herois set to miss the whole of the next campaign due to a serious knee injury he picked up when training with his country a week before the World Cup, and he will be a serious loss to West Ham if they did not snap up a suitable replacement.

Thauvin never really got going at Newcastle, but since arriving at Ligue 1 side Marseille, his talent has gone from strength to strength and he has become a goal machine out wide.

The Frenchman netted an impressive 26 goals in 54 games for the French outfit during the course of last term, which is an outstanding goal tally for a player who largely operates as a winger and has resulted in a reported £44million asking price.

Thauvin would integrate himself seamlessly into the West Ham team, and his goal statistics are to be desired – so it is not a huge surprise that the Gunners want to land his signature.

He has even scored almost three times what Javier Hernandez mustered up at the London Stadium, who only managed eight goals in all competitions last season.

Boss Manuel Pellegrini would be mad not to snap up Thauvin given his jaw-dropping record as a winger – and he knows he would be guaranteed goals by the former Newcastle man, which the Hammers would appreciate massively next term.

He would link up amazingly well with Mexican international Hernandez, with the possibility open to Thauvin even operating as a striker to increase his goal rate.

West Ham must act now to hijack Arsenal’s move for the Marseille attacker – or see him set the Premier League alight for a top-six side.
