After seeing so many new arrivals at the London Stadium, West Ham fans had best get ready to say goodbye to a number of the current stars cluttering the halls of the club.

The midfield is looking particularly crowded thanks to the arrivals of the likes of Jack Wilshere and Felipe Anderson, while there are also a fair amount of striking options that Manuel Pellegrini has to choose from ahead of the upcoming campaign.

As such, another new arrival is only going to cause the Chilean manager more of a headache, and it is about time that he started shipping some of the dead weights off before the window shuts in just over a week.

Portuguese publication Record claim on their website that the Hammers are on the brink of securing the capture of 21-year-old striker Xande Silva to help bolster the options of the reserve side, and his arrival must finally see the end of outcast striker Jordan Hugill.

The former Preston North End hitman only arrived in east London back in January but he has got nowhere near the heights expected, with just three appearances to his name last season.

Excluded from the pre-season squad to take on Aston Villa, his time at the club seems under threat, and bringing in Xande Silva as back up only limits his chances of redemption further.

A loan does not do much for the Hammers and so the 26-year-old needs to be pushed out the door permanently this summer, ending a calamitous six months for both club and player.
