West Brom could welcome Boaz Myhill back to The Hawthorns this summer – and that would be sure to leave many fans seething with Darren Moore for re-signing the Welsh goalkeeper.

Myhill, 35, left the Baggies at the end of June when his contract expired, but according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon on his personal Twitter account, there is a shock return on the cards for the former Hull and Birmingham shot-stopper.

Myhill has served as back-up goalkeeper at West Brom since he joined the Black Country club from Hull in 2010, appearing 82 times across all competitions.

He was largely praised for his professionalism in a time when game-time was very limited due to the form of Ben Foster and when the former England international was ruled out with a serious knee injury at one stage, Myhill did a decent job stepping in.

However that was all ruined in February of this year, when Myhill was one of the four players involved in ‘taxi-gate‘ in Barcelona, when he, Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans and Jake Livermore stole a taxi in a mid-season warm weather training camp.

West Brom fans were furious with the quartet and Livermore was the only one to really redeem himself with a series of impressive performances on the pitch, topped off with a last-minute winner against Tottenham that will go down in Hawthorns folklore.

Myhill was understandably not offered a new deal and was allowed to leave the club after eight years at the end of June.

However there is now a chance of him re-signing, and that would be a very unwise move by Darren Moore, who can surely snap up another goalkeeper from elsewhere if he wants another back-up option in his squad.

Many Albion fans will be livid if this deal happens, and Moore should pull the plug on it as soon as possible to prevent the risk of him being jeered by the home supporters this season.
