Tottenham have approached Trabzonspor with enquiries about attacker Abdulkadir Omur, according to Turkish Football.

The Turkish news outlet claims that Spurs are in hot pursuit of Omur, 19, after a breakthrough season in 2017/18, in which he earned his first call-up to the Turkey international squad.

Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has confirmed that the Super Lig club value the attacker as being worth £14.2million and that there is currently a bid short of that valuation on the table.

“It is not just my decision, the board will have to come to a decision,” Agaoglu said.

“The board are either going reject the £10.6m offer or propose a counteroffer, £14.2m is the figure we are looking for.”

Good move for Tottenham?

Omur was in great form for Trabzonspor last season and is only going to keep on improving so long as he is constantly playing first team football.

He scored three goals and supplied six assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for his club, and was an unused substitute for Turkey in a friendly with the Republic of Ireland in March.

It will not be long before Omur is a fully fledged international and that will cause his value to soar, so if Spurs want him, they should make a move sooner rather than later.

The attacker’s price-tag is not too outrageous and he could develop into a very handy player in the future.

Likely to happen?

Spurs have done nothing to suggest that they are going to sign a lot of players this summer with the only player who is continually linked to North London being Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Omur will probably be on the move this summer as he has outgrown Trabzonspor already, but Spurs just seems like an unlikely place for him to head this summer as Mauricio Pochettino’s business is appearing as though it’s going to be very limited.
