A selection of Celtic fans were left raving over the performance of James Forrest in the club’s 3-1 Champions League qualifying win over Rosenborg on Wednesday night.
The Hoops played host to their Norwegian counterparts, having come through their qualifier with Alashkert comfortably last week, but found themselves 1-0 down in the opening 15 minutes thanks to Birger Meling’s goal.
However, the Bhoys found their way in front courtesy of goals from Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham minutes before and after the half time whistle, before the striker added some gloss to the display with another strike 15 minutes from time.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet, it was 27-year-old Forrest who had much of the Celtic Park faithful delighted, having been subject to a tactical switch early in the first half, as they heralded his display, which included an assist for the third goal, on Twitter.
This is Futbol has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

Forrest on the right has made a huge difference …..Let the record show I was 15 minutes ahead of Rodgers on that one.

Him and Forrest carried the team first half. Defence a shambles, midfield lost.

Forrest on the right has been great but it's the fans that have inspired Celtic to start dominating the game. Looking forward to a second half featuring Tom Rogic.

Opinion
Forrest is always a popular figure at Celtic Park but he certainly seems to have to stolen the show with his performance against Rosenborg – even if he was not on the scoresheet. Fans would have been confused to see him start in the middle, but after a quiet start, Rodgers ended up switching him out wide, which turned out to be an much more sensible move which got the very best out of the natural winger. It nullified Rosenborg’s threat going forward and his endless running kept the pressure up in defence. The 27-year-old is already looking in tip top shape and that bodes extremely well for the Bhoys heading into the new domestic season.
