Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has established a reputation of bringing one of the most attack-minded approaches to the Premier League with his management – but there are still some areas he could do with improving.

With Harry Kane leading the line, the likes of Heung-min Son and Dele Alli offering a cutting edge from out wide and through the middle and Christian Eriksen dictating play with his vision and passing ability, Spurs have an incredibly strong platform which has helped them establish themselves as the best team in London – finishing behind just the two Manchester sides last season.

However, what Pochettino lacks is out-and-out pace in the form of quality wingers, with Erik Lamela hit-and-miss and Lucas Moura yet to prove his worth after his January move from PSG.

The Lilywhites have been heavily linked by the likes of France Football with a move for Bordeaux’s Brazilian dazzler Malcom, the 21-year-old having impressed with his 12 goals and eight assists last season.

Pochettino and his men seemed firm favourites for the youngster’s capture, but they are at risk of making a major transfer slip up by missing out on him and allowing London rivals Fulham to steal his capture from under their nose.

The Sun claim that the Cottagers, who have proven themselves to be big spenders this summer, are readying a bid to trump Inter Milan’s loan-to-buy offer and capture the South American flyer for themselves, having just been promoted back to the Premier League.

It is stated that Bordeaux have rated their wing wizard at £45million, although he could well leave for less, and with Tottenham’s need for rapid forwards to help bolster their front line, losing out would be a huge blow.

If Malcom moves to the Premier League, he will almost certainly be a success, having all the talent and quality required to terrorise defences in England’s top flight, and that is something Tottenham need to have on their side to pose a serious threat to their fellow title challengers.
