Tottenham have held face-to-face talks with the father of teenage midfield sensation Omer Faruk Beyaz over a potential transfer swoop this summer, according to Fotomac.

The Turkish news outlet claim on their website that the Lilywhites met with the 15-year-old’s father as they look to try and prise the youngster, who operates as a central midfielder, away from Fenerbahce, with Arsenal and Real Madrid also said to be in pursuit.

However, it is stated that the Super Lig club’s president Ali Koc, who called Beyaz “the best of his age group,” is looking at tying the starlet down to a new contract in order to ward off interest.

Opinion

There is absolutely no harm in finding the very best young talent from around the globe and Beyaz certainly appears to have caught the attention with his performances at youth level. With Real Madrid and Arsenal fighting for his capture, as well as Fenerbahce looking to tie him down to a new deal, Tottenham face a fierce fight at securing his signature, but holding talks with his family is quite a significant step to take. The Lilywhites mean business over the teen sensation and if they can get a deal done then they will be left feeling pretty proud of themselves having beat some prestigious competition to his capture. Still, this is not a game changing move, and fans will not see Beyaz in the first team for a couple of years if he does make the move. The priority at Tottenham really should be their senior side right now, and there will be much frustration from the stands if business does no accelerate imminently.
