Chelsea and Belgium forward Michy Batshuayi has attracted interest from La Liga club Sevilla, according to Goal.

The 24-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge is not certain as Antonio Conte prefers other striking options. Bathsuayi was allowed to leave Chelsea on loan at the end of last season, as the Blues brought Olivier Giroud to the Bridge.

The report indicates that Sevilla have not made any move for the striker as of yet, and are instead monitoring his situation, as Conte’s tenure is currently cast in doubt.

Batshuayi has played well when called upon thus far in London, scoring 19 goals from his 53 appearances in a Chelsea shirt, yet he continues to be overlooked by the former Italy manager.

Good move for Chelsea?

No.

Batshuayi showed during his time with Borussia Dortmund that he is a top calibre striker, with a nose for finding the net.

The striker has also looked electric during his cameo appearances at this years World Cup, serving as number two to Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku.

With Alvaro Morata seemingly on his way out, now could be the time to place the faith in Batshuayi to lead Chelsea’s front line.

Likely to happen?

If Conte stays, maybe.

Chelsea’s manager has made it clear that he prefers other striking options, as Morata and Giroud were both above the Belgian in the pecking order.

Due to this fact, if Conte keeps his job at the Bridge this transfer is much more feasible, and Sevilla would then step up their interest in the striker.

It is extremely likely however that any deal would see a major transfer sum, as the Blues would look to recoup most, if not more than the £33million they paid for him.
