With Newcastle United in dire need of some attacking reinforcements – and Everton looking to clear out their squad this summer – the two Premier League rivals must come to an agreement to hand Yannick Bolasie a lifeline in England.

The former Crystal Palace winger’s time at Goodison Park has been decimated by injury, and he has not been able to regularly show the same dazzling form which earned him a £30million move to Merseyside back in 2016.

His time at the Toffees looks as though it could come to an end sooner rather than later, with Turkish heavyweights Fenerbahce said by Sky Sports to be eyeing up a swoop for his capture – which is where Newcastle must step in.

The 29-year-old is too good to be playing over in Turkey and really should continue to strut his stuff in the Premier League, and his cruciate ligament damage should not take that away from him.

His 111 top flight appearances would be a big boost to Newcastle’s squad next season – Rafael Benitez always on the lookout for someone who knows what it takes to be a success in England – and if the Toffees are willing to let him go then St James’ Park could be the ideal destination.

He might not be a lethal attacker, or an assist king, but he does have the flair and work ethic to be a success, and giving him that lifeline could be the catalyst to see him back to his very best next season.
