Manchester United are in advanced talks with Real Madrid over a transfer for their winger Gareth Bale, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The newspaper reports on their website that the Red Devils are in discussions for the 28-year-old’s potential move to Old Trafford, but the Wales international has the final word as to whether he will return to the Premier League.

The wing wizard grew is said to have grown increasingly frustrated last season over the role he was playing at the Bernebeu under former boss Zinedine Zidane, and that he will need persuading by new arrival Julen Lopetegui that he is part of his plans before choosing whether to move back to the Premier League with United.

Good move for Manchester United?

Yes, absolutely. Any club would be pinching themselves if they were in advanced talks to sign such a talented player, and there is no doubt he will light up the Premier League once again.

Netting 21 goals during the 2017/2018, he will surely replicate that statistic under boss Jose Mourinho, who will have a formidable team on his hands if they finalise a deal.

The combination of Bale, Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard in attack is a very lethal prospect indeed.

Likely to happen?

Yes, it does look likely. United are in advanced talks for the Welshman, and this can only be viewed as a step in the right direction to bring him to Old Trafford.

The only obstacle would be if any other club attempted to hijack the developing discussions, which of close would be a bitter blow to Mourinho.

United now need to speed proceedings along and finalise a deal for Bale before any other parties come sniffing.
