Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has admitted that he needs a permanent move is needed to revive his floundering career.

The 6’5″ (source: Transfermarkt) colossus has previously had loan spells at Serie A outfit Torino and West Ham after being ousted by Pep Guardiola at City, but these attempts to keep himself as England’s number one for the World Cup did not pay off.

Now he has seemingly confirmed his exit plans, having been quoted by the Sun as saying: “I need to go somewhere permanent, that’s obvious. I did what I did in the previous two seasons because I needed to play to be involved in the World Cup. Look where that got me.

“I need to be an important player at [a] club, that can only happen with a permanent move. I’ve got a year left and I’m not going on loan again because my situation has changed. I need to feel part of something. That’s the plan.”

OPINION

The admission by Hart that he needs to seek a more permanent move is definitely the right decision by the shot-stopper. A loan move is a great idea initially, but then that club could have a disappointing season and it can have a severe impact on a player’s career. A permanent move for the 31-year-old will help him recapture the form that saw him as City’s number one that helped them to a title win, and he has the ability to be a great keeper again if he is given that chance. He needs to feel valued as a player, and if he goes on loan he is not going to get the appreciation he wants. There was a reason why he established himself as England’s number one for a while, and being frozen out by Guardiola has not helped the situation. A permanent move, preferrably to a Premier League club, is the perfect remedy for a player in his situation.
