Liverpool have endured a goalkeeping transfer fiasco of late as boss Jurgen Klopp searched for a new stopper to replace the error-strewn Loris Karius – but he has reportedly handed the German a lifeline in the senior side, as reported by the Sun.
However, with Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol claiming Premier League rivals Chelsea are hunting Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel, Klopp must revoke the offer of an olive branch and pounce for the Foxes’ star.

The 31-year-old was on the losing Danish side last night (1 July), with Croatia defeating them 3-2 on penalties – but the keeper has also displayed some stellar performances for Claude Puel’s team in the Premier League.
The Danish international kept a decent nine clean sheets during the 2017/2018 campaign, and it is arguable that he is an upgrade on the current goalkeepers the Reds currently have.
Karius’ error-stricken exploits in the Champions League Final are known to many football fans, and the majority would undoubtedly mention Schmeichel’s name on a potential list of replacements.
He was one of Leicester City’s stand-out players in their Premier League winning campaign in the 2015/2016 season, proving pivotal in keeping the Foxes’ chances of obtaining the title alive.
This is why Klopp should make a move for him – because it will not be long until one of their rivals snap him up from under their noses.
Schmeichel would obviously be a much cheaper alternative to the likes of Roma’s Allison or Stoke’s Jack Butland, and would be a major coup should they land him for a cheap fee.
Leicester would be reluctant to let one of their star players exit the King Power Stadium, but the 39-capped international may be swayed by the prospect of Champions League football once again.
The keeper has already experienced the thrill of winning the title and playing European football for one season, but the Reds will be able to lure him in with the fact it will happen more regularly with them.
