Since the departure of striker Wayne Rooney, Everton need to bring in more attacking reinforcements to complement the likes of Theo Walcott, in order to ensure that they are capable of achieving a top-ten finish once again.

The Mirror’s transfer blog [03.54pm] reports that Toffees’ boss Marco Silva is keen to bring Crystal Palace flyer Wilfried Zaha to Goodison Park, but the 25-year-old is said to not be as keen after enduring a torrid time up north while at Manchester United.

However, Silva must do all in his power to convince the right-sided speedster to join forces with him in order to bolster his current attacking options, as he is the ideal signing this summer.

Everton already have speedy winger Theo Walcott amongst their ranks, but they cannot not solely rely on him to provide the lightning pace going forward.

Zaha has a similiar playing style to the former England international, and they would compliment each other outstandingly well if the Palace man made the move to Merseyside.

Having two players in the team of whom can both provide lethal pace would be a very attractive prospect to any manager – not least Silva, who is undoubtedly keen to stamp his mark on the team.

Their combination would leave the Everton faithful drooling at the prospect of the damage they would potentially cause to other teams – and it is surprising to see that Zaha – who netted nine goals for the Eagles last season – is not eager to make a repeat trip up north.

Under Silva, he is guaranteed regular game time, of which he would not be thrust into a team where there are too many similiar players – something of which he endured at Old Trafford.

During his time in Manchester, Zaha was not given adequate opportunity to showcase his talent as much as he would have liked, hence why he did not have a very successful spell there.

Nevertheless, Everton must now convince Zaha to join their ranks to enhance the pace and attacking threat in their squad.
