Everton winger Daniel Bramall has signed a new one-year contract with the club after joining the academy when he was 14.

The 19-year-old signed his first professional contract with the club last year and has now committed his future to Goodison after breaking into David Unsworth’s Under-23 side last season.

Talking to the official Everton site, Bramall said: “It means a lot to sign the contract. When I first joined when I was 14, even from my first training session, I could tell it was a family club.

“I just got on with everyone and all the staff made me feel welcome. It made me feel like I want to stay here for as long as I can.

“The coaches are brilliant and I feel like I’ve progressed a lot since I’ve been here. I want to kick on next season and try to improve in every aspect.”

OPINION

Some good words here from a player who could have a very bright future at Goodison. He impressed last season and has the huge benefit of being  a versatile player who can play at right-back or out on the wing, and even as an attacking midfielder. He’s done enough to be rewarded with a one-year contract which will give him time to prove to Marco Silva that he deserves a shot at the first-team. You can tell that it would be a dream come true for him to play for the senior squad and if he carries on impressing he’ll have a shot. The 19-year-old has been compared to Gerard Deulofeu has a huge bag of tricks in his arsenal, and is hugely comfortable on the ball. Breaking into the Under-23s was a big step and now he needs to prove that he is the real deal next season. He’s fast and confident, and Everton fans will be hoping he can make the next big step up.
