Everton are still in the hunt for Celtic left back Kieran Tierney this summer and a bid could be on its way to Glasgow over the coming weeks, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claim on their live transfer blog (08/07, 10:49) that despite reports from the likes of the Scottish Sun, the Toffees are still keen on the Hoops flyer, with a £25million price tag half of what they would have to pay for Danny Rose, the name who has been mentioned as a possible alternative.

It is stated that Everton is among a number of targets and that an official offer is still on the cards, although the report says the Toffees are unaware as to whether the Bhoys would be receptive to such a price for their star man, after helping them to three domestic titles last season.

Good move for Everton?

If it is Rose at £50million or Tierney at £25million, there is little question that the Scottish star is much better value for money.

Not only is he cheaper, he is younger and possesses a lot more potential, and certainly fits into Everton’s plans of bringing in talented players who are going to grow into top quality performers.

It is understandable why Rose has such a massive price tag slapped on his head after his dazzling performances over the years, but it is not a fee Everton should be willing to pay.

Celtic could be losing their star man this summer, and Everton should really be sealing a deal.

Likely to happen?

There is not a lot going on in terms of official movement, but if Everton want to make it happen they just have to flick the switch.

A price of £25million is going to be tough for Brendan Rodgers to turn down and it looks as though the Scottish star could be set for a premature exit from Parkhead.
