West Brom manager Darren Moore must plot a move to bring Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham to the Hawthorns on loan this summer, as the future regarding the Albion’s striking corps remains uncertain.

Abraham, 20, is a proven goal scorer at the Championship level, having scored 23 goals during the 2016/17 season whilst on loan at Bristol City, as well as notching four assists.

Moore currently possesses two premium striking options in Jay Rodriguez and Solomon Rondon, but transfer speculation linking the pair with moves back to the Premier League has left a cloud of doubt surrounding the Hawthorns going into next season, and this must be addressed.

The Express and Star reports that Newcastle are once again turning their attention to Rondon, whilst the Daily Mail pose that Burnley are looking to recapture Rodriguez.

This leaves Moore in a ‘catch-22’ situation, as there is no guarantee now that the Baggies will have an out and out striker going into next season, despite preseason being well underway.

Abraham is not quite ready for Premier League football, as evidenced by his promising, yet ultimately lacking season in South Wales with Swansea, where the striker only found five league goals and two further assists.

The 20-year-old also is unlikely to much first-team football at all, if any, and Moore must look to take advantage of this in an attempt to lure the England international to the Midlands.

Abraham, much in the style that he was in Bristol, would be a feature player for the Albion, and would further represent the youth attitude brought about by Moore, who has worked in close proximity with a number of Albion’s youngsters.

Chelsea would surely be up for the idea of sending the £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) forward out on loan, and may pay a chunk of his wages as a spell at The Hawthorns would benefit both clubs.

West Brom must prioritise luring Abraham to the Hawthorns to make a statement of intent that they are looking for as swift of a return to the Premier League as possible.
