Chelsea bosses have slapped a jaw-dropping £100million price tag on N’Golo Kante’s head, as the Ligue 1 club PSG show interest in signing him, according to Goal.

The English news website claims that PSG are considering using Adrien Rabiot to tempt Chelsea into selling the France international, who is currently valued at £100million.

It is understood that PSG have made it their priority to land Kante, and they are willing to offer the Chelsea star a deal worth £220,000-a-week.

Good move for Chelsea?

Absolutely not.

Kante is one of the best players in the world, not just the Premier League, and no sum of money is going to guarantee what the Frenchman already brings.

The stability through the middle of the park that Kante brings is such a rare commodity, and you can’t really put a price on it.

Rabiot is a fine player, and will continue to grow, but he is not at the same level as Kante, and would not serve as a good replacement either.

Likely to happen?

I don’t think so.

The interest from France looks genuine, and Kante himself might fancy the move having won almost everything there is to win in England.

But Chelsea simply cannot afford to lose the France international’s services, despite the £100million sum, as there is nobody there to replace him with the same effect.

It would make for one eye-watering team in Paris, with Kyllian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar Jr already there, but Chelsea would not want to let him go.
