Nottingham Forest could announce the addition of Lewis Grabban within a matter of days, after a £5million bid was accepted by Bournemouth, according to the Nottingham Post.

The regional newspaper reported on their website that a seven-figure deal that would see Grabban move to the City Ground could be complete before the week is up.

Grabban, 30, was most recently in action for Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side, having completed a short-term loan spell at Villa Park at the end of last season.

The Bournemouth forward impressed during the loan spell, scoring eight goals from his 18 appearances for the Midlands outfit.

Good move for Nottingham Forest?

Absolutely.

Grabban is an experienced forward that can guarantee goals at the Championship level, as evidenced by his multiple spells within the division.

Aitor Karanka has been lacking that creative presence and the 30-year-old will bring that, despite his age.

The playoff experience also possessed by the Bournemouth forward could also become integral to Forest in their search for Premier League football, and the fee is not too expensive.

Likely to happen?

Seems so.

The report indicates that a fee has already been agreed between the two clubs, and the deal could be finalised within one week.

Grabban is unlikely to be afforded the chance of regular football at Bournemouth either, whereas he will be a feature player at the City Ground, so the attraction would be there.

Karanka is a manager who has high aspirations, and Grabban himself only fell short of the Premier League at the final hurdle last season, so this could be a match made in heaven.
